Emeritus Professor Des Cahill of RMIT University, a former priest trained in Rome, is a world leading authority on child sexual abuse in faith-based organizations. With Dr Peter Wilkinson, he was a senior consultant to the Australian Royal Commission. He has since given public evidence to the New Zealand Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions and advised the UK’s ongoing Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (Jimmy Savile Inquiry).
