Geoff Edwards
Dr Geoff Edwards commenced his career in the National Parks Service, Victoria, then took appointments in Victoria's Crown land and reserve administration, Melbourne's Metropolitan Parks and Port Moresby's parks and gardens. He was a local government Councillor and Shire President in Sherbrooke. He moved to Queensland in 1990 as Manager, Land and Regional Planning, with the Department of Lands/Natural Resources, with responsibilities for a range of aspects of land and energy policy, retiring in 2011. From 2013-2019 he was President of The Royal Society of Queensland. He is Adjunct Professor, Centre for Governance and Public Policy, Griffith University.

As if crafting rural policy were not already difficult, the advent of Sky News Regional in 2021 is likely to render it much more difficult.
