Lauren Booker (Garigal clan, North-West Sydney) has worked across the museums and archives sector to support language and cultural revitalisation projects connecting Aboriginal communities with institutionally held cultural material collections. Lauren is also a member of the Indigenous Archives Collective.
Museums, libraries and archives are traditionally not culturally safe spaces for First Nations peoples. As state institutions, they have supported the colonial process and they have privileged certain histories over others.
