
Gavin A. Wood
Gavin Wood is an Emeritus Professor of Housing and Urban Research at RMIT University, Melbourne and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. He was previously Director of the RMIT Research Centre of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) and held positions in the Economics departments of Murdoch University, Western Australia and the University of Glasgow, Scotland.He currently has research interests focused on the role of housing in the dynamics of wealth inequality, different perspectives on the ‘edges of home ownership’, secondary property ownership and new approaches to the taxation of residential property.He has over his career actively engaged as an advisor and consultant to numerous organisations including the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, Ministerio de Obras Publicas Y Urbanismo, Madrid in Spain, Northern Ireland Housing Executive in the UK, and the Australian Commonwealth Government.
