In response to Who restrains power when power refuses restraint? – Message from the Editor

Mad Trump and nuclear weapons

While debatable, restraint is preferable to the irrational, bigotry and madness of Donald Trump. There is an issue that has not been discussed – the possible use of nuclear weapons by an angry, irrational and grotesque US President who regards himself as an immune and that his only restraint is himself.

My fear, our fear, should be that Trump may opt for a nuclear option to resolve his Iran issue and that the failure to condemn the illegal war on Iran will encourage Trump to believe that his use of a nuclear bomb is justified and, if so, then, Australia is complicit – because of our continuing subservience to the dangerous whims of a corrupt US President.

Our restraint has been to restrain from criticising the US and, therefore, contributing to an unrestrained US and not understanding our complicity.
