In response to The case for spiritual sociology

Spiritual hunger not met by western religions.

Western missionaries and evangelists bring not spirituality but dogma. Missionary colonialism arrogantly told peoples they were wrong and failed to swap spiritual practices. ‘That was pagan and we are better than that.’ Humans, as the author says, have hunger for deeper understanding and spiritual lives. Materialism by definition does not work. We are not just digestive tubes open at both ends. Look at the cultures of ‘Eastern’ and ‘Middle Eastern’ spiritualities. Lest sociology becomes another dogma, or trade like Macmindfulness.
