The need for more Community Independents and Greens

Everything John Frew writes is true. But there’s a bigger picture: so many voters who vote against their own best interests, not only in education but in health, aged care, all public services. The loudest voices belong to the better educated and more wealthy. They scream about how tax reform is bad for us all when in reality it is barely noticeable to their class and only in their wildest dreams would it affect the less well off. In fact, it robs the less well off of tax revenue which could benefit them. The answer to that is, of course, better education for those whose education is lacking. Which brings us back to Frew.

Labor is now an Anthony Albanese dictatorship. We hear whispers about Labor backbenchers not daring to dissent. But they must grow a spine and speak up when their leader is in thrall to lobbyists. Failing that, as seems likely, may Community Independents and Greens increase and Labor and Liberals decrease. A fair and prosperous future for ‘all’ Australians, which is essential for Australia as a country to thrive, does ’not’ lie in what are referred to as our two major parties.
