Throwing away the moral compass

It is hard for any person who sees themselves as civilised, to imagine the depths of depravity of the dying West in not just turning their collective heads away from the sheer depravity and savagery being inflicted by others of their kind upon an innocent and occupied people, but in participating in it.

Any measure of the decline of civilisations must take account of the triumph in those civilisations of sheer, base inhumanity to the other.

For those of a religious bent the West is well down Dante’s path to Hell as we engage in all the moral decrepitudes that adorn that path. Every civilisation engages in the puerile conceit that it outshines every previous one in its grandiosity, purity of purpose and freedom from cant. Ours is probably the most prominent in that self-deception.

That we will be seen by the future as willingly descending into the odoriferous depths of the slime at the very bottom of the human gene pool can be nowhere better illustrated than in our participation in the slaughter of an entire people whose only desire was to live their lives in their homeland free from our pusillanimous posturing of superiority.
