Time to stop spending billions self-sabotaging

Federal government funding for science research in Australia has dropped 27 per cent over the past decade. In an era of mass technological, geopolitical and environmental disruption, how can a decent government spend $16.3 billion in just one year subsidising fossil fuels while the CSIRO, Australia’s peak science body, has shed 1150 jobs since February 2024? Really. How?
