Changing the structure of the UN

Connie Peck laments that the UN is being starved of funds while member nations overspend on armaments. Could we see that both of those are because the bad boys have too much power at the moment?

First Trump – a malignant narcissist – seizes power in the US replaying what tyrants have done throughout history. If the world survives Trump it must work out how to stop forever new Trumps seizing power, which won’t be easy.

A suggestion of something that might make it easier is changing the structure of the UN. It is a body of nations and nations have rulers and functioning democracies are in the minority. The remaining nations rulers may be tyrants, one party states, the generals et cetera, not a reassuring picture if world politics is to be improved. What is missing is the people. If at the inauguration of the UN a separate organisation – the U P United People’s body – was set up on the other side of the road or even with just a single seat at the UN would we be in the same mess today? It’s interesting that the new Australian party Community Strong was set up to give people more say.
