Culpability includes enabling, aiding & abetting
Allan, it is not only war feeding the uncontrollable egos of Great Powers. Culpability is shared by the very denial of truth and justice from anyone propping up the too-hard basket.
We did this for 24 years denying freedom by supporting the perpetrator in East Timor (liberated Timor-Leste). Not just supporting – enabling. Exactly the same for West Papua – enabling, aiding and abetting, exploiting and profiting from invasion, dispossession, disenfranchisement, and crimes against humanity so heinous it would be impossible to believe if it were not for the forensic evidence available – photographs and videos of the victims in situ.
Freedom is not some type of philosophical western or eastern philanthropy approved by governments and multinationals whose wealth, geopolitical opportunism and economic predation includes vast golden dividends from West Papua’s spectacular natural resources and preserved by the criminal denial of every West Papuan’s right to legally complete their decolonized nation-state sovereignty and to be liberated from the barbarity of Indonesia’s six decades of militarized terror. Six decades of OUR enabling, aiding and abetting. I stand with West Papua and their right to liberation.
