Philosophical inquiry is the answer

Stewart Sweeney’s article correctly pinpoints what is probably the most fundamental issue of our time. It seems to me that the answer lies in a radical change to our methods of education, in essence we need to look back to antiquity for our inspiration. Adopting a ‘Philosophical Inquiry’ approach to education develops critical thinking and a greater understanding of society. Also, giving more prominence to the arts rather than current fixation on educating for specific workplace skills, develops sensitivities and creative talent that will serve humanity well in a world that is becoming increasingly complex and out of balance.
