Fighting for peace
It’s not silence, but naming Palestinians ‘terrorists’ that kills, in that it justifies Israel’s claims that it faces an existential threat – a postulation without credible underpinning.
Yes, Palestinians issue threats. IT’S WHAT PRISONERS AND THE PERSECUTED DO! The opposite is Stockholm Syndrome.
If Palestine were any sort of realistic threat, the Nakba wouldn’t have happened. Palestinians would never have lost their homes, crops, olive trees. No barbaric soldier doing wheelies in a wheat field would have got away with it. Foreign humanitarian agencies would not have been needed to escort Palestinian children to school safely. Israel couldn’t have turned water and electricity off and on at whim.
October 7 was like a battered wife who gathered what weapon/s she could and killed her husband while he was asleep. She couldn’t defend herself when he was awake and would have been killed if she left. While horrifying in itself, in the bigger picture, Israel suffered a flesh wound on October 7.
The battered wife could have killed herself, of course. But she chose life, as Palestinians have always done. However, compared to Israel’s firepower, Palestinians are fighting with pop-guns and air rifles. They threaten no one. May their peace come.
