Winners and losers
We are losers under the current system. Once the students leave school they will be expected to function in our society – they will be mixing with people from all walks of life.
One of the benefits of a desegrated school system is that students can experience our diversity in a supportive environment.
This in turn will enable them to be more tolerant and appreciative of diversity. Creating social silos undermines the ability of students to fully appreciate the value of diversity.
