
Desmond Manderson
Professor Desmond Manderson FRSC FASSA is jointly appointed in the Australian National University College of Law Governance and Policy and the College of Arts & Social Sciences. He founded the Network for Law, Arts and the Humanities, collaborating on the development of innovative interdisciplinary courses which connect the study of law to English, philosophy, art theory and history, political and critical theory, and more. Danse Macabre: Temporalities of Law in the Visual Arts received the 2019 Penny Pether Prize for research in law and the humanities and the 2020 Australian Legal Research Award. His latest play, Twenty Minutes with the Devil (with Luis Gomez Romero) premiered at The Street Theatre in 2022. He is also a well-known expert on Australian drug policy and history.
