"Homo Moronicus" and the climate heating crisis

In 1962 I was trying to decide whether to enrol in science or in medicine at University of Sydney. My fathers cousin Peter Funk, a CSIRO atmospheric scientist, was sending up helium balloons from Aspendale in Melbourne to measure the changes in CO2 concentration at various heights. He told me that atmospheric CO2 was rapidly increasing and was a powerful greenhouse gas, and that its source was humanitys burning of fossil fuels. He predicted all the effects of the climate heating crisis that we see today. Paul Ehrlich of Population Bomb fame has renamed Homo Sapiens Homo Moronicus and I would have to agree.
