Disappointed by Henry's call for an Apology
It’s disappointed to read Mr Reynolds call for an “Apology” rather than accept that the True Sovereigns of these lands remain the Sovereign First Nations.
Charlie should return Sovereignty, not apologise for stealing it.
Perhaps Mr Reynolds would be well advised to look into the findings of the Beauchamp Committee of 1785.
It was set up to locate where to send those sentenced to Transportation.
The King had already announced such a return to Transportation, and this committee recommended, thus;
““that Convicts will need strict supervision wherever they are sent, and that the destination to send convicts be Africa, or if not, then British North America, or else such other parts of the globe as have already, or which may be taken possession of, without violating the territorial rights of any European State.”
A year later, after failing to find a destination in Africa or British North America, or other places within the Realm, it got decided to send Convicts to Botany Bay.
Banks had told the committee that he couldn’t advise on the “governance arrangements of the Natives”. The Committee must’ve known it was required, so as to enter into Rentals, Purchases and/or Treaties.
