Reclaim the streets - trans day of visibility rally

In the face of the shocking anti-trans and neo-Nazi rally last Saturday in Melbourne, it’s a time for solidarity - visible solidarity with those we love and all who walk with them. Show your support by joining me at 5.30pm Friday, March 31st at the State Library, Melbourne. Let’s reclaim the streets together.

Dear friends,

You all will have seen the reports about the anti-trans/neo-Nazi rally last Saturday in Melbourne - part of a wider campaign to roll back trans rights and much more.

Please tell your friends about the Trans Day of Visibility Rally at 5.30 on Friday, March 31st at the State Library.

It’s a time for solidarity - visible solidarity with those we love and all who walk with them.

Why

On Saturday the 18th of March, a tiny group organised a transphobic protest on the Parliament steps. This tiny group was joined by a gang of masked neo-Nazis, who have spent the last six months terrorising queer events.

They do this to intimidate us. They do this because they want us to disappear. They do this because they would love nothing more than for us to quietly go back into the closet.

Enough is enough. This is our city, and we will not recede back into the shadows quietly. We are bigger, stronger, and more resilient than the hate groups who organise against us. We have more allies, and more people who love us than they ever will. Now let’s show them how big and powerful we are.

March 31st is Trans Day of Visibility. The Pride Lobby, supported by Victorian Trades Hall Union Pride Network are calling a march from the State Library after work. Start gathering at 5:30pm, and bring every, single person you can think of.

Let’s make this the biggest rally for trans rights that the country has ever seen.
