What you can do today to support Palestinians in Gaza

Israel is currently ramping up its depopulation campaign in the north of Gaza, its violence in the West Bank and is escalating its bombing of Lebanon. Bolstered by international impunity, Israel’s far-right government continues down this genocidal path.

We need you to email and call your MP, Senators, the Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister to ask them to sanction Israel - NOW.

We support APAN’s campaign for sanctions. Go to their campaign site to send the email and find templates and scripts.

The civilian population in Northern Gaza remains trapped while they are bombed, shot at, and rounded up. Horrific images continue to stream in, including of Palestinian men, women and children being rounded up in large holes, and Palestinians burned alive in an Israeli strike targeting Al-Aqsa Martyr’s Hospital.

Only yesterday, Israel voted to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the major lifeline providing food and medicine to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who face imminent risk of starvation.

It is clear that Israel will not stop without outside pressure, particularly from Western governments. As stated in a letter signed by over 2,500 Israelis, “Unfortunately, the majority of Israelis support the continuation of the war and massacres, and a change from within is not currently feasible.” Australia, as a major ally of the US, which is funding the Israeli military, can play an important role.

For all of our Jewish supporters please tell your MP:

· That you are part of a growing number of Jews speaking out against Israel’s atrocities; · Pro-Israel organisations do not speak for you; · It is not antisemitic to support Palestinian freedom and justice; · Politicians must stop using Jews as political footballs to justify their inaction.

For all of our supporters, Jewish and non-Jewish, make sure your MP knows that what they do in response to Israel’s human rights abuses will impact your vote.

None of us are free until we are all free.

P.S. You can also request a meeting with your local member and tell them why you support the Australian government taking material action to prevent Israel’s ongoing atrocities. You can use APAN’s MP engagement toolkit to help you.
