IDF chiefs break ranks

Israeli military and security chiefs are active participants in Netanyahu’s biblical holocaust on Palestinians.

Now, as Israeli settler attacks on West Bank Palestinian villages intensify with IDF support, and Gazan survivors enter starvation induced genocide, many former IDF chiefs suddenly call for President Trump to intervene to “Stop Netanyahu”.

Netanyahu has led his country on three occasions (1996–99, 2009–21, and from 2022 until now; becoming Israel’s longest-serving prime minister_._ The support of Netanyahu by Israeli military and security institutions has been rock solid throughout the many decades of his various governments.

As military commanders, they have shown no inhibition in attacking unarmed Palestinians at every turn, arresting many tens of thousands as “suspects” who were held indefinitely in concentration camp prisons and tortured to intimidate them to leave their country, or to prove their involvement in “terrorism”.

After the 1967 War, Palestinian lands were partitioned into the enclave of Gaza, while the West Bank of Palestine was illegally occupied by Israel. Its Palestinian citizens were then ruled under ruthless apartheid laws, under which they could be murdered without redress, or made homeless as land was confiscated under fake edicts from Israeli courts. This manner of rule parallels the Nazi treatment of Jews in 1930s Germany – Netanyahu’s military and security thugs learnt these lessons well, and now employ the same techniques.

Recently, as much of the Western world has decided that Netanyahu’s genocide of Gazans by starvation, random shooting and bombing has become too much to bear, some 600 of these prior IDF military chiefs have suddenly concluded that the world must be informed that “actually they too oppose Netanyahu”, and meekly suggest that US President Trump intervene to induce a halt in Netanyahu’s murderous actions. They are themselves helpless to help, even behind the scenes in Israel.

This is a remarkable request from these ghouls. They have often repeated the monstrous fiction that “Hamas killed 1600 Israelis on 7 October 2023” – the much claimed “justification” for Netanyahu’s war of genocide against Gaza and other parts of Palestine.

Some of these ex-commanders will have themselves participated on 7 October 2023 in the so called “ Hannibal Directive” bombing and shelling by Israeli military helicopters, drones and tanks of any moving cars and of many Israeli settlements within the area of the Hamas incursion which was activated at noon that day. Many more will have had roles in the pre-planning for the Hannibal Response, they will have commanded training of IDF troops for it, and they will have spread the lies to the media and kept telling the lie to all who would listen.

The lie is that the IDF was clinically killing Hamas terrorist insurgents on 7 October 2023. Many brave Israeli survivors and eye witnesses of the incursion on 7 October 2023 told Israeli newspapers of seeing Israeli civilians being killed by their own IDF. Indeed, some IDF soldiers and field commanders also reported that they had been involved in the Hannibal Directive killings of any persons found in the incursion area.

Yet all of the Israeli dead are claimed by Netanyahu to be exclusively victims of Hamas. The reality is that the IDF military killed their own people in a death spree intended to bolster the numbers of Israeli victims. This was a murderous plan to gain the sympathy of the world and to damn all Palestinians as ruthless butchers, to be exterminated in a war of revenge.

Some of these ex-Commanders now critical of Netanyahu will have also participated in the planning and execution of the relaxed conditions for targeting Hamas militants which was declared at 13:00 hours on 7 October 2023. This relaxation was revealed in an investigation published in The New York Times, headlined, “ Israel Loosened Its Rules to Bomb Hamas Fighters, Killing Many More Civilians” on 26 December 2024 (yes, on Boxing Day). It is a chilling disclosure of IDF operations during the prior 15 month-long destruction of Gaza. NYT reporters were shown sensitive military records and interviewed over a hundred anonymous IDF soldiers and officers, including 25 who determined the bombing targets.

The NYT interview was approved by, and admitted as true by, the IDF, indicating that Netanyahu wanted to let the world know of the methods the IDF was using, despite continuous denial of any policy for the total destruction of all buildings in Gaza. Al Jazeera staffer Belén Fernéndez analysed the Dec 2024 NYT article, observing that “According to the US paper of record, Israel never intended to ‘erase the Gaza Strip from the face of Earth’ – it simply ‘weakened its [non-existent] system of safeguards meant to protect civilians’.” She also noted that the word “genocide” appears only once in the entire article, expressed in a denial by IDF spokesmen that genocide was occurring.

The events now known about this so-called Gaza War are remarkable – the complete destruction of Gazan society, the deliberate bombing of all hospitals, schools and homes. The ratio of deaths and injuries in Gaza far exceeds ratios for civilians during other major wars, indicating deliberate targeting of civilians over Hamas combatants. The ongoing bombing of Gazan survivors in their refugee tent cities, and now the banning of any food or water being brought into Gaza, and the shooting of any who gather supplies, to cause the starvation of an entire population has made the world realise the Gaza War is a prolonged exercise to cause the genocide of an entire people.

Now suddenly, 600 previously murderous ghouls sign a joint letter questioning Netanyahu’s actions. This indicates their fear of potential legal reckoning for their prior involvement in these genocidal events.

Reports that Netanyahu is now calling for, or ordering, his armies to return to Gaza to hasten the killing of claimed Palestinian terrorists, speaks of his parallel desperation to achieve his final solution before the world catches up. Trump says the re-occupation of Gaza is simply Israel’s issue, and he is more concerned with getting food into Gaza. How he will achieve that against Israel’s desires is not clear.

The latest pronouncements from Netanyahu are probably the real reason behind the opposition from the 600 military signatories, rather than any newfound interest in preventing or stopping the genocidal progression. They fear that Netanyahu’s mad policies could engulf them as well.

In Australia, the Albanese Government has also invoked the good offices of President Trump to find a solution, eschewing to initiate any meaningful policy actions themselves. I can only imagine their purpose is the same as that of the 600 Israeli signatories.
