Long-time contributor Eugene Doyle reflects on Pearls and Irritations as an open-ended think tank and calls on readers to support independent policy debate into 2026.

I feel very fortunate to be a regular contributor to Pearls and Irritations. It is, in a sense, an open-ended think tank – a project that draws in serious thinkers and writers and equally importantly, an impressive readership, both in quantity and quality. Together we make a real contribution to advocating for better policy at both the national and international level. My personal focus is on challenging dangerous dominant narratives that threaten people at home and abroad. Let’s do it again in 2026!
