James Bennett

James Bennett is an honorary academic at the University of Auckland. His PhD thesis, obtained from the University of Melbourne in 1997, was a transnational history of Australia and New Zealand, 1890-1944. He has published articles in numerous national and international journals, a monograph on the trans-Tasman labour movement and several anthologies on film and history, the First World War and radicalism in Newcastle. A dual citizen of Australia and New Zealand based in Newcastle, he is currently engaged as a consultant for Chemical Media TV on an episode about New Zealanders for a forthcoming SBS series focused on multicultural Australia.
