Tim McDonald is a former Australian diplomat, whose appointments included High Commissioner to Bangladesh, High Commissioner to Singapore and Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, Washington. He later served as Director, Research Institute for Asian and the Pacific at Sydney University.
