Mark Dreyfus, the Australian Attorney-General, is travelling to Israel to pay fealty to an indicted war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu. Dreyfus, a member of the current Australian Labor government has not criticised the ongoing genocide.

Netanyahu wants the Albanese Government to ban protests in Australia against the Palestinian genocide, which Dutton would attempt, but Labor cannot because it would commit suicide given that its constituency is opposed to Israel’s war of annihilation.

Netanyahu may also demand that he should be permitted to visit Australia, as he did the United States, to undermine the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.

Dreyfus, by putting himself in the hands and power of Netanyahu, a manipulative, Machiavellian fascist psychopath, will also have to promise Netanyahu changes in how Australia votes in the UN and permit war criminals such as Ayelet Shaked to visit Australia.

Australia has differentiated itself from the US and voted with 156 other countries at the UN to demand the end of Israel’s “unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory as rapidly as possible”.

No doubt, Netanyahu will also demand that the Albanese government must ramp up the key propaganda item in the Israeli propaganda arsenal, namely, the false hasbara equivalence of anti-Zionism with antisemitism in countering the growing opposition in Australia to the ongoing Palestinian genocide.

Contradictions are opening up on this issue of world-shaking importance and, therefore, the possibility of conflict and dissent within the ranks of the Albanese Government. One wonders what position Penny Wong, and other members of the Albanese Government who oppose the Palestinian genocide, will take.
